bashir style ouds?!!


hi dudes

ive heard this combination a lot: "Bashir-style Oud". what does it mean exactly? all ouds i saw with that name had oval holes and floating bridge. but does it have an exact meaning? special dimensions, woods or sth?

bashir style oud refers to the floating bridge oud. Munir Bashir, with the oud maker Mohammad Fadel, applied the floating bridge oud back in the 50s. Since then the floating bridge oud or Bashir-style oud are used interchangeably.
