Pinkie finger
I have a problem with my pinkie finger. My hands are still small (i'm still a little young) and every time I use my pinkie finger, I never get
enough resonance from the oud. I can't really settle on a note in the fourth position because it just sounds weak. I've tried repositioning
my fingers so that I use my ring finger instead but that gets confusing and I usually end up slightly off the pitch. Do most players have this problem
or should it disappear as I age? Should I accustom myself to not using my pinckie finger or will that put me at a disadvantage? Any advice would be
greatly appreciated. Thanx in Advance

I would say being able to use the pinky give the playing more fluidity and power, watch Farid Al- Atrash's videos.
You will get better with practice so do not give up and use the pinky playing oud every chance you get.
Here is a fingers exercising machine you can use while sitting watching TV:

To give your pinky more strength, you can hold your ring finger closer to it.

Thanks for the advice Elie. I'll try to pull my ring finger closer to it. I'll try to use something similar to that machine. It really
doesn't seem like it's worth 15 bucks. I was thinking of using a stress ball. That seems like it would work fine and help me build some
chops. Once again thanx for the advice and i'll be sure to watch Farid's video.

Hello Elie Riachi
This little machine seems to be very nice, I thank you for sharing this mate.
I am going to buy one to use . Good that it can fit in the pocket and to be taken everywhere. It seems more helpfull for all fingers not only the
pinky.
Thanks brother

You are right, I noticed a lot of improvements when I used it and I don't use it as much as I should. Now this is begining to sound like a
commercial, but I noticed improvements in a week. It was more expensive back when I bought one and they are hard to use at first, just like lifting
weights.
Enjoy my friend,
Elie
