Vualp,
check this forum and you will find a good number of topics that do have dimensions as well as profiles.
For example, there is are a couple of threads by jdowning talking about profiles of lutes and ouds. Most of these profiles seem easy to individually
reproduce.
First you need to decide on a neck length (scale length), e.g. 19.5, 20, 20.5, or 21cm, (58.5, 60, 61.5,or 63cm). Lengths for oud bowls range from
48cm to 53cm. They could be less for smaller ouds. The width varies as well from 34 all the way up to 40cm. All this information is mentioned in
threads on this forum. If you are serious about building an oud I would suggest that you read the topics thoroughly as there are tons of helpful
information.
You can go with something like 49x36x18cm.
If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask.

There are many standard measurments you can go by. Dr. Oud's book provides a good one. Why not start with that?

Hello
I've made a soundboard on a receipe of overtones, it worked fine...but maybe luck, it was a single try
Here is how I understood it
http://www.mikeouds.com/messageboard/viewthread.php?tid=15903
And the soundboard I made, but I made my own other receipe. I'm happy with the result of sound

Hope this helps

Yaron, which member of Nahat do you think this oud was ? It is a very interesting piece you propose, as your book Richard. Great for new makers to
get references
If i'm correct, this one is, from the bridge toward the neck body joint:
Major 7th - major 7th - major 2nd - perfect 5th (middle of sound hole) - major 2nd - major 7th
So different from the Abdo, which has octave braces, as I oftenly noticed in many ouds. But near also in the way of emphasis on major 7th and 2nd.
I know this is very theoretical, but I'm very keen in feedbacks on this subject. What feedback did you get on this antique oud, qualities as criticism
?
