Looking for Oud Player in Manhattan
Hey there! I'm new to these forums and new to the instrument! Just bought my first Oud about six months ago and I love it. The reason I had bought it,
is that I am a musical theater composer and have been working on a show entitled Les Enfants de Paris. It takes place in 1958 Paris and centers around
an Algerian refugee named Esme Benhamou. I knew down the road when we moved from staged readings into production I wanted Oud in the arrangements and
I wanted to be familiar with the instrument before I did so. ANYWAY this brings me to my point. We have finally gotten a full production and are
currently looking for an Oud player to be part of the show's band. As Oud is kind of unheard of in a musical theater score, we have had a difficult
time finding anyone through traditional means so we are reaching out in any way we can. Our official ad is as follows:

'The streets of Paris are not safe after young Pierre Frollo's love for a fiery Muslim refugee sparks a series of cataclysmic events. Featuring a
chanson- and Arab-influenced score, this gripping musical re-sets Victor Hugo's Notre Dame De Paris amongst the disenfranchised youth and xenophobia
of France 1958, and the Algerian War for Independence.'
Seeking one Oud/Rhythm Guitar player for the following performances:
October 3rd at 8PM
October 4th at 9PM
October 10th at 5PM and 9PM
October 12th at 5PM
October 15th at 5PM and 9PM
and rehearsals:
September 30th 1PM-4PM
October 2nd 10AM-3PM
October 3rd (tech/dress rehearsal)
There will be two additional three hour band rehearsals scheduled in the month of September TBD.
$750 stipend. Player must be able to play some rhythm guitar as well, but primary focus is Oud skill. For an audition appointment please email a
