Lessons from a UCLA Professor Dr. Munir N. Beken in Los Angeles
Dear members of the forum,
I am very excited to let you know that I have an opening in my schedule and I will be accepting new students. I am located in Westwood.
We are also considering to start weekly rehearsals in Westwood with a new mixed Turkish music ensemble. I do not want to interfere with any of the
already existing groups. Please let me know if there are similar groups in the area, so I would schedule our rehearsals on a different day. Please let
me know if you are interested

Merhaba Ustad Münir,
Although I have no immediate plans to visit Los Angeles (I live in Northern CA), I do hope to be visiting LA sometime in the next year or so.
Do teach single lessons?
I am an intermediate level oud player with a mixed Arabic/Turkish style (Arabic "C" tuning). I read music (more comfortable with
Arabic/"concert"-pitch notation) and a basic knowledge of Maqam/Makam theory.

It is great to see you here on the forums and branching out to new students. I was just talking about you with some friends of mine. Basically, most
