Hi everyone,

I've been searching for information on Jamil Qandalaft. Haven't found very much as yet, but I did come across these pictures from a previous thread, and something caught my attention in the main rosette: it seems to show two lions rampant on either side of a crown. Is this some kind of herald? Is it a common feature of Qandalaft ouds? And most importantly: does anyone know what it refers to??

I've repaired a few Qandalaft ouds. The ones I've repaired are not nearly as ornate as this, and they all sounded great. I personally prefer less "bling" because that stuff is usually heavy, adds no structural integrity to the instrument, and a lot of the mosaic end up falling out.

But of course, it's a work of art on it's own and gorgeous to look at!
