electric oud insight
Hello, I am planning on getting an electric oud.
from my limited research it seems like the najarian E-1000 is top of the line. and also currently out of my price range.
what can you tell me about this oud as far as quality, electronics, ect?

are there other options I am unaware of?

Hi mikem
welcome to the forum.
I dont know nothing about e-ouds, neither the one from arabinstruments
nor any others-dont like that toilet-seat-design
On my "daily ebay-oud-search" I see this one. It does look playable and payable, maybe you can ask the seller for
a soudsample.
Good luck,
Marcus

Is there a reason you can't use an acoustic oud with integral pickup? There are such ouds available direct from Turkey.

No real reason. actually, I am starting to lean in that direction. what makers would you suggest? If I am located in the usa, and my price range is
around $500. cheaper would be ok, but I want something well made. It seems like you can get better quality Turkish ouds for the same price as
Egyptian ouds?

Yes, it seems the Turkish standards for student ouds are higher.

Try the Godin multi-oud before making up your mind.
