It usually only takes me a few hours to transcribe a tune like this, and I think I want to add it to the repertoire for my group, Rhythm Oasis (in
Flagstaff) anyway. Let me know if you already got it or if you are still waiting.
The version I find first on you tube seems to start on Db, but I would have to learn the whole thing before figuring out if it is Db rast or nahawand
in Eb or some mode thereof. It is easy enough to change the key once I get the basic melody keyed in.
If you have already figured out what maqam it is in, it is generally easier for me to shift the pitch on a looper when i am learning the tune
