Irish Traditional Music

Hi,
I've been lurking on this forum for a while and it is a great resource.
I'm have only playing oud since September but have been interested in Arabic music for some time.
My background is in Irish trad music and I have found the oud to suit many tunes in this repertoire.
Here I am playing a jig;

Any other players play similar styles on their ouds?

I've sung some Irish songs and accompanied myself on oud. The Lassie Who Had The Land (Brigit Tunney's setting and phrasing) is a good one with oud.

Does the Turk's Head Chop House in Temple Bar still feature belly dancing? I looked in the window in 1998, the belly dancer (dancing to taped music) gave me a wink, and boy did I wish I had my oud with me! Also, would have been a total kick to play my oud for the Turks & Lebanese working the (surprisingly good) shwarma place a half-block from St. Stephens Green. :airguitar:
