Hello Ahmed
I have been through this before as I came across a unique piece of waterfall bubinga in USA. Having no clue of the dimensions I consulted Michael Moussa who gave me the following universal measurements that worked well:
- the length should be 75 cm or multiple( 30 inches)- to avoid waste. For example from a length of 100 cm only 75 cm will be used but a length of 150 cm will be all used
- As a rule every cm in thickness will give 3 ribs when sawn
- the bawl would need 21 ribs if the width is 3 cm
So a log of wood measuring 25 x 4 x 1 inch would produce 24 ribs each 75 cm long, 3 cm wide and 3 mm thick

precut ribs from David Dyke is another convenient but more expensive option
