Veysel Muzik Evi

I recently visited the Veysel Muzik Evi in Istanbul. I've attached a photo with Dr Cenzig Sarikus and his son Veysel. I spent the afternoon drinking turkish cya and discussing all the custom features, such as the specific woods Master Cenzig will use when building my new Damascus Ud. They are incredibly kind and gracious hosts, and I am very excited and blessed to receive one of his handcrafted Ouds in August. Thank you to Master Cenzig and Veysel.

Looks like fun, but I want to know more about this Turkish "CYA." ;=) I would love to try a Turkish-made, Arabic-style oud someday.

Cya is turkish black tea, much like our lipton tea, but stronger. Very tasty. I will be posting photos of the Oud, once I receive it. Veysel went above and beyond, and I will always remember he and his father's kindness.

This interview can be interesting for you. But all the friends of Turkish Luthiers not only Master Cengiz are like this. You can drink CHAİ, (ÇAY) talk about music play the ouds. However, Master Cengiz is one of the best's.:D
