Congrats Lutt, play it with good health. But where on earth have you found this oud?
And i wonder how it sounds! Could you play something on it for us and let us all enjoy it please?
I'm a big fan of Nahhat's ouds...i have one original myself that has been in the family since 1889 and is still in very good shape.

mabrouk Lutt !
It is interesting that early Nahat ouds (as this one) do not share the looks of the
models of the 'classic' period... I'm also curious to hear her voice
Now please show us also the other ones

Hi guys!
This oud is not new to me! We have "always" had it in the family! It belonged to my grand mother's unkel.
It is only now I learned how to post pictures : ) I am reaaally bad with computers..
I have 5 more, but this is the oldest.
The newest is from the 40's, and is of no big value.
I'll try to post sound files, but I'll have to learn how to post video or audio files first. I get the messaged that they are too big!! Help : )

Hi Luttgutt
which programm do u use to open pics with docx- ending?
I do not have microsoft office on my pc, I tried several programs but could not open the files
I LIKE TO SEE THIS OLD NAHAT TOO !!!
If you just learned how to post pics, why not learn how to convert them in pdf or jpeg
Take it easy,
Marcus
PS: I installed open office 3.1.......now it works!!!
Very nice oldtimer, I`d love to hear its sound!!!
Playing the oud is like feeding my soul with peace

It's the newest MS Office, which uses a totally different file format than former Office versions. There is a free converter available on Microsofts
website. BTW ... because of a patent court decision MS has to change this file format and is not allowed to sell further Word 2007.
I would highly recommend, not using Word documents to show photos ... why not posting it as a JPG file? IrfanView is free and very helpful
Greetings from Germany

you can open them with Open Office, it's free... it will open any Microsoft office document without emptying your wallet.

Hi guys!
Danielo, thanks for the posting!
Sazi, I really want to post sound files /videos. Actually, I believe I am the only one who has been sooo long on this wanderful forum that has NOT
posted yet
It is because I don't know how, and I don't have the equipments!
Now I learned how to post fotos (well, partially ).
Hope I'll be able to post sound files soon.
Please be patient with me : )

Simply beautiful.
Interesting to see that already in 1887 the dove was the dominating pattern for the Nahat family.

Such a beautiful oud,
You can just see the great craftsmanship and passion put into the oud. Its over 120 years old, made with the simple tools of the day and its beauty
still stands strong against any modern day production.
Love it...

By "Dove" I mean the pigeon (Hamameh) design that was used a lot in Nahats decoration, specially in the small rosettes. In your oud it is used
everywhere.
I don't know if they were the first to use it but what is sure that after they did many luthiers start to use this pattern, to give their ouds this
"Nahat look".
