Dear Souheil
Nice work ! Not an easy piece to play and. like many good pieces, not an easy listening the first run, it took me some time to get to the subtle shades.

Please correct me if I am wrong, I noticed 4 parts in this "caprice".
You start with a very cerebral melody, well constructed and thought, very harmonic, the westerner in you, then you take a step towards "the roots" a nice modulation with a bit of anguish and hesitation, a transition to the 3rd part.
The 3rd part is brilliant, you let go and you're there, on the mountains, completely in the roots, like a Ataba on fire, you go high and low like those duos of Feirouz and Nasri. there are moments where your oud feels like a bouzok.
Homesick Souheil?
the last part is a bit sad, kind of back to reality.

A nice trip, keep composing my friend.

Alami el 3aziiz
many thanks for this great critics. Honestly I didn't think for instance about this music in your way. You might have seen something that I unintentionally reflect in this music as a person. You made me think:)
I am more toward makams and how to put them together and toward the use of unusual ones (you find in part 3, as you describe it, siga on A, natural A, aslo siga on Natural D)
But this is the power of the music that lets people imagine and dream.
I am glad that you came out with this analysis and many thanks for listening and analyzing.

P.S. This is an initial version, a complete one will be posted soon (probably tonight:)) also I am not satisfied with the playing, I'll make another one:)

My best Regards
Souheil
