My Oud always gets out of tune
Hi,
I just started to learn oud and I have a big problem: My oud gets out of tune very fastly. When I have tuned the deep C-string, the high C-strings
already are out of tune nearly a quater-tone!
Is there anything I could have done wrong or can it be a mistake in the construction of the oud?
Please help me.

Welcome to the Forum Simon!
Well it could be many things. But most two commun er:
1- New strings take time to satle (at least 2 days)
2- The pegs don't hold well (need som violin soap. I don't remember the name)
Use the search icon, and you'll find many good advises!
The wood might be dead, but the oud is alive.

... and factory strings (the ones the oud shipped with) are usually junk.
But this topic has been discussed sooo many times
PS: Which strings are you using? When was the oud stringed? And maybe show us a closeup photo of the pegbox.
PPS: THIS discussion might be interesting for you ... many tips for a guy who started with a cheap oud.
Greetings from Germany
