Hi,
if you're located in the USA, you could buy a Sukar oud with hard case at Palmyrami, a website, that has been discussed several times here in the forums.
But it's better to tell us first, in which country you're located, before we give tips

Unfortunately Palmyrami has no Sukars on hand but the last "skeleton electrics" at the moment. The ouds on their web site have not been updated in
almost a year. The days of the miraculously inexpensive Sukars might be over.

Are you shure? There are still several listed, even the entry level Model 1.

Quite sure, Chris, I don't make stuff up. I wanted to buy a model 1 a couple of weeks ago and was told they have none. The web site is obsolete, the
prices and "inventory" are from last year, they don't have an in-house web-master. The only thing they have in stock is what's on e-bay, that's how
you can tell.

Too bad ... I bet Mr. Sukar could sell much more ouds, if he would be willing to ship all over the world.

Well, maybe contact Samir Azar in Syria ... his ouds are very good, not too expensive and as far as I heard, he ships worldwide.

Hi ASAL!
Samir Azar is a good chose (for floating bridge ouds).
Another option is Sabbassi on this forum (fixed bridge oud). He is a bit more expensive then Azar though. He sends all over I guess (he is in
Nederland).
Did I forget anybody guys?
But of course, if you willing to pay over 1000$, than the list of the good luthiers that send all over the world becomes much bigger
p.s. Aymara, Sukar is selling a lot already. The arab world is full of Sukar ouds. He is the "Folke vogn" of the arabs
The wood might be dead, but the oud is alive.

As far as I know, he also builds fixed bridge ouds, if you order them. But it costs only a mail to ask

But I doubt, he will ship to Singapore ... or am I wrong?
PS: It might help to know, what kind of oud our Singapore friend is searching for and what is his price limit. If he's still undecided, maybe we
should discuss the different oud designs first.

ASAL,
I think you should contact Dr. Atef Abdel Hameed, the man is great. Very nice person.
He just sent me an oud from Egypt, he can get you a very nice Fathi Amin oud for reasonable prices. I highly recommend him
atefabdelhameed@yahoo.com
I have nothing to regret, you can tell him that Michael Boulus referred you to him. Good luck man
You can search around the forum to see fathi amin ouds and read about his reputation
+++++++++++

But I bet he is experienced enough to do a good job on fixed bridges too. And who knows ... maybe he offers the best value for money?
I think, it's definitely worth to contact him and ask for details ... like with the other recommended luthiers too.
This is definitely better than buying from a reseller.

Hi guys.
Thanks for the replies. Really appreciate it.
I'm looking for an Arabic Oud.
The previous oud i was using was a Sukar, so i'm looking for something that is similar to it. I don't want a beginner's oud.
Budget wise, around $500, plus minus.
Thanks.

I only can repeat myself
Talk to Samir Azar. If you liked a Shukar, I bet you will like an Azar oud too, especially because the quality of the Azar oud I held in my hands
seemed better than Sukar's entry level models in the 500$ price range.
