wenge for ribs
I wanted to hear some opinion about wenge for ribs....And if the flatsawn is more difficult to bend than quartersawn...

Wenge
Wenge in general is not a friendly wood )-: the grain is heavy and tough, tend to brake easly, don't know about it's tonal and QS characteristics

many people avoind it because it hurt the frigile hands. it splinter a lot and you have many splinters in your finger in no time.
It is a beautiful wood if ou can resist the bending burning and the splinters in your hand 
try to google it (wenge + splinters)

Hi there my friend.
I have built my latest oud using wenge. I wouldn't recommend using it. As was said before it splinters a lot and they get stuck in your hand for quite
some time since its almost impossible to get them out. Also, they can lead to sepsis which is a blood poisoning disease. Not good...
It smells nice when heated though, almost like chocolate and coffee.
