ibn sina, same here. Blue Camel is one of his best, I think.
I remember I had an Egyptian cab driver a long time ago tell me I should quit playing guitar and get an oud. I was like, "a wha?" Soon after, I came
across Rabih and well . . . here we are.
I'm not too fond of Abou-Khalil's oud playing, but I like his compositions and ensemble concept (and he always has great players with him). I think
the end result usually works.

I am glad to read people talking about Rabih Abou Khalil, even because I have the feeling that not many people here love him 
According to me, his best album (and one of the best albums ever) is "Tarab". I don't like too much his "jazzy" works.
Anyway, we all agrre that he's not one of the best oud players around, but the atmosphere he creates in his albums is magic!
