A suitable oud (small enough) for a woman to use?
Hi all -
Can anyone suggest a model/style of oud that is holdable by a smaller woman? Almost all of the ouds I've seen in person have been too big for me to be
able to hold while using my arms, etc.
One of the replies to my earlier post re: "Is there a decent oud in the $500 range" suggested a Sukar model 1. Is that on the shallower side?
Thx for the help!

Yes, Sukkar has 3/4 model. I suggested it for a young lady friend of mine & she found it very friendly to her average size.
It's about 500-600 $ as much as I can recall >
Good luck

I was always looking for small ouds. I had a few: - Maurice Shata has very beautiful small model (i brought one last year from Cairo) , sure Ali
Nishidar is great (have a normal size), also small Sukar - but at the end I play on Kamil Mwez arabic oud - and I am ok with this - thou I am small
size myselfe. So, no problem with standard Arabic oud for women.
here is my big oud:
