Butrus Bishara
Hey
Anybody know anything about this luthier?
I did a search on the forum but there isn't any substantial information about him or his instruments.
Some videos on youtube would suggest he's in Cremona, Italy. Is he still there or is he in other parts of the world? Is he still building?

Botrus Bisharah is a fairly good luthier from the The Holy Land. He was born in Tarsheeha - Upper Galilee ,Simon
Shaheen's birth-place.
He used to make good ouds around here, till he decided, at a relatively old age for such a step, to move to Cremona- Italy to study at The
Stradivarius Institute in Cremona (or whatever its name is) violin making techniques, hoping this would help him in making ouds. I've never seen or
heard an oud of his after he had come back home, but the oud I've experienced, made prior to his move to Italy, was a rather good oud, made with
perfection and precision and light as a butterfly. It sounded like the old ouds we very much cherish.
To be honest, I've heard he's very expensive, also when he restores or fixes other's ouds. His ouds start from 3000 $ !
I hope they deserve this much. I'm sure he deserves even more for his devotion to the instrument we all love.

unfortunately most of the pics on the fb page are for mohamed fadel ouds and other ouds he restored, but from those pics you can tell his style.
anyone has a sound file to one of his ouds?
