Ali Al3Alabi?

Hi. Does anyone know anything about the maker Ali Al3Alabi from Syria? I recently received a 1989 oud of his as a gift and aside from having to lower the atrotiously high nut I love it. It has a very nice boomy bass on the nylons which is somewhat unusual.
