a new oud project


hi all,
as for the mould , the front and the back block are fixed.
the dimintions are as following:
Lenghth : 52.5 cm.
Width : 40 cm.
Depth : 22.8 cm.
it is cemicircular. the LENGTH SCALE will be 60 cm.
now, what is about your opinion around that items?
and what is the No.s of braces you advice?

This seems like a fairly large bowl. In this case at minimum, 7 braces, maybe 8. Depends where you put them and how thick the top is as well.

i suggest to follow Nahat modle
you are right braces should be 8
brace thickness,as I see, mayebe 4mm, hight is 20mm

Yeah, 8 braces for that size bowl would be standard. Also, 4mm, with a height of 20mm is fairly standard.

Since the bowl is so large, you might wanna go slightly thicker on the braces. Maybe 5mm, and not make every brace 20mm. I make the braces in the center a little higher than the ones close to the blocks. So the tallest 20mm, and the next 18mm, and then eventually 16mm or so.

You have to experiment a bit, take a lot of measurements and repeat this procedure many times until you feel you know whats best. I'm working on this myself.

I will your advise since it right
but what is about the soundboard itself?
it should be 1.5mm all or 1.5mm centerally decreasing to 1.3mm twards outside?
I need your advice.
