was wondering if you could post some pictures of the process...did you brace the back like a guitar--is the access panel on the back for a
pickup...would love to see a detail of the neck block....and a sound file would be awesome...beautiful work! many thanks

Thanks, the braces at the back is indeed like a guitar, but I didn't take any photos of the process (camera problem), the access panel on the back is
for a pickup, and the sound file will be soon.
Yaron.

Hello
Beautiful work. How did you build the neck/body junction ? is there a tenon and a neck block like a traditional oud ?

That's really interesting, and I like the simple aesthetics too.
As an amateur guitar builder, I've thought about doing something like this. The lute community is very down on going the flat back route. How would
you characterize the effect on the oud sound? Your impressions comparing the two would be just as valuable as the sound clip of the flat back
instrument by itself.

Thanks! it is correct that the sound characteristics changed...
It is very hard to explain in words what is the difference, but let me try and say that it is less "Baladi" more guitarish....
Every musician has it's own look and feel when it come to "explaining" sound characteristics

Yaron.
