Seeking a small-bodied oud - UK.

I want to buy a small-bodied oud to replace a Michael Moussa model I am selling here:
http://www.mikeouds.com/messageboard/viewthread.php?tid=12847

Anything considered to help this guitarist get a grip on a small, relatively shallow-bowled oud he can hold comfortably and play with pleasure.

Thanks for looking at this ad.

Just wondering: how long have you been trying to adjust to the size of your present oud? Is it maybe a matter of how you hold it? Is it slipping out on you or? Have you tried a piece of non-skid carpet backing? Many bona fide oudists use one. I mention that because it's hard to get a full sound out of an Arabic oud with a small body. Alternatively have you considered a Turkish oud? They are a little smaller (and tuned two half steps higher) but still sound full.

Been trying to accommodate the oud for a year and a half now.

I have considered a Turkish oud, but no less an authority than Michael Moussa does not recommend one (for me, at least), as the bowl back is as deep (if not deeper) than on Arabic models.

Terry, have you considered a lavoud by Dimitri or a flat back oud, or having an oud made to your own specs, there are oud makers who will help, check the FAQs.

Matthew, you're a gent - thank you for the link. That's certainly "put the cat amongst the pigeons"!

I shall give what you say serious consideration.

You can consider Tasos Theodorakis ( http://www.theodorakis.name/ ) as one that he can make you a custom made Oud. For example he made for me a really small sized turkish oud with biiig sound and im in love with this instrument. Try to contact him and talk with him about your ideas and how you would like to be your oud...
