I liked the piece, nice melodic movement in the higher octave.
I thought that Saba especially in so old pieces didnt go higher than the Sunbule note...
I guess this is the only recording we have in this piece!
You may try this with a riqq . It may be interesting .

I have been practicing ney a lot, finally learning a few more pieces
The sayr of old Saba is quite different to modern Saba.
It is like Huseyni with the note saba (gb) contrasted with the regular use of nawa (g).
The maqam is much more basic and less tragic.
This was Cantemir's favorite maqam and he stressed that the note saba should not be 'dwelt upon for too long'.
Another Bashraf I will record soon only uses the note saba one time in the whole piece.
I will post the piece soon with riqq.
We played this live a couple of weeks ago with riqq and darabukka outside at a drum festival.
