may i share this book with you?

Hi folks
i have received George Farah oud method part 2 & 3. these books have a lot of useful etudes and sheet music. the copy right mentioned in them is expired in 1985 & 1986 but im not sure if it's legal to share it. maybe they got a new license. so pls tell me if it's illegal to share it. i will wait till next week for your further info, if we reach to a point that there's no problem, i will scan, upload and share the links here.

The legal duration of copyright of a publication is not straightforward and depends upon a number of factors - see here:

The main question is when the original copyright was registered.
In the US it would probably technically still under copyright, but depending on the laws of the specific country, it may not be (particularly provisions on so-called "orphan works" that are not currently being published or actively used).

I just looked up Lebanese copyright law; it is the currently life of the author +50 years, so it is almost certainly still under copyright unless they neglected to renew it when the term was extended.

It looks like you could contact them; they may be able to give you an idea about it. Otherwise contact the original publisher.

I don't think that the commercial availability or otherwise of a publication is a relevant factor here?
Best to follow Brian's advice for this particular book.

I didn't meant it would make the free sharing of it legal just because you can't buy it anymore. I meant the author would not have a problem with it being shared, probably. If he is alive.
