Selling my Fathi Amin Egyptian oud on eBay
Greetings, I am selling my Egyptian oud on eBay. If I remember correctly, it is a Fathi Amin made oud but unfortunately I'm not as oud savvy as the
folks here so I may be wrong (in which case I'll be pretty embarrassed, but I think that's what it is).
If anyone is interested, please see the link for pictures. Just wanted to spread the word.

After seeing the pictures on ebay: this is for sure not a rosewood bowl, light colored as it is ... probably might be maple.
But otherwise it looks quite o.k.! Good luck and happyness to the new owner,
Alexander

Good luck in selling the oud on ebay. As the label says, its birth was in July 12, 2008, . It also say something about Saudi Arabia, but couldn't read
more.
Could you bother and take another clear closeup of the label ?
With no intention to underestimate your oud, and just to let you know, Late Fathi Amin (RIP) did not make any ouds in the last 20 years of his life, I
mean with his bare hands, not by the workers' in his workshop.
This's a confession he made to an Egyptian journalist friend (who told me himself) who acted under-cover, dropped in like he was about to order an
oud, sat with Fathi for a long time a couple of times and the old-man spilled the whole thing out. For two decades, Fathi confessed, Mahmoud was his
right hand and made the whole oud, from the wood sawing till the strings tuning. Fathi didn't bother to come to the workshop on regular basis, unless
he was bored or in order to meet clients or friends. Later on, his son Sayyed, joined the workshop, but left for a business of his own a couple of
years ago, but kept writing Fathi Amin & his son Sayyed on the new label.
Hearsay ? Maybe, but directly from "mouth-say".
Again, I wish you luck selling the oud and think it's quite a fair deal for the money anyone would pay. Another discount would be welcome for sure,
but not more than a 100 up to 200. 500 $ is a very fair price for such an oud.
Yours indeed

Thanks for your reply, I didn't know this. I am only giving the information as I myself received it when I purchased it. I am out of my league with
detailed information about the oud, and I'm simply trying to sell it on to someone who will use and appreciate it. As for taking another picture of
the label, this is difficult. I took probably 20 shots and the ones I posted were somehow the clearest!
I was considering marking the price down and of course if anyone here is interested in buying it outside of eBay I would be happy to discuss it in a
private message. Despite my spotty knowledge of the oud's origins, its a wonderful instrument and I hope I can give it a good home.
Thanks again for your informative post!
