Musiqana web site
Thank you Suz_i_dil for pointing out Musiqana.net! What an excellent resource. Ahmed Al Khatib is playing a beautiful sounding oud here. Does anyone
know the maker?

I would put my hand in the fire that the oud was made by Abu 3ala from palestine.
Its growing to be a very important website for musicians to learn a lot from these masters.
very high level discussions happening there.

Thanks, Samir. Yes, three intelligent well-informed musician/composers making sense. Apart from musical terms I know no Arabic but even I can learn
something from these discussions. Especially because so much of what is said is illustrated by playing directly on the oud.

I just posted in another thread about this but there is a list on the right side of the page. This is a list of maqams and if you click on one you'll
get a discussion and demo about that maqam. The list from top to bottom is: Rast, Nikriz, Beyati, Nahawand, Ajam, Kurd, hihaz, sikah and saba

I really like the sound of that Oud. If it's Abu 3ala. I would like to know more about this Luthier... Anyone have more info on him, specific location
in Palestine, weblinks, etc?

RIGHT ! Your hand is rescued !
I have been told that Ahmad, in his last visit home a couple of months ago, has picked this oud, right from the hot oven of Abu Alaa in Baqah.
To your surprise, I wasn't there
Great job BTW, right ?
I loved the sound very much.
Great, masters !
Yours indeed

What's the name of the guy who's playing in the hicaz/bayati videos? I really like his style.

Nice to share the discovering of this website with you. Hope it will develop further. For english, it will come but will need time. As you can see, if
