Eigenfrequencies of necks...
I have started 4 ouds and here are my observations from those necks...
The higher the pitch the better for the oud.....

That's a great demonstration... I would love to hear how it sounds when the Ouds are finished..
Some Questions:
1. Are these Turkish Ouds or Arabic Ouds?
2. In what way is a higher pitch better for the Oud?

me too i am curious how it will sound!!
1)Turkish ouds
2) All energy from strings should be delivered to soundboard....The stiffer the neck ,the bowl etc and everything else,the most energy is absorved
from the soundboard...
I was amazed by the fact that the stripes of padauk and purpleheart lowered the pitch instead of raising it(as i thought)...

Amazing demonstration.
But why do you say "the higher the pitch, the better for the oud" ?
Do you already experiment it ?

i was told by an world famous OUd master......
besides it is a common sense,but is awaiting to be confirmed
