Olive wood typically has many defects, I'd expect it not to be a great choice for a wood bowl since the larger pieces required will inevitably have
many defects. It makes nice pegs though, since you can work around the defects.

Olive wood is also said to be 'unstable' that I take to mean it takes 'forever' to fully season like boxwood so will always be 'on the move' with
temperature/humidity changes. As a bowl material this may or may not be significantly detrimental acoustically or even mechanically (local splitting
or cracking)?
