Garabed Der Bedrossian

Some of you might recall the Bedrossian that I had restored a few months back. When I got it it sounded loud but did not have a very strong bass response. I figured that was the way it is as some ouds are a bit "dry" sounding anyway. I have been playing it and over the past couple of weeks the bass has really opened up on this oud and it keeps sounding better. I know that when instruments are not played they can lose their bass response but I have never experienced a change this dramatic. I think the oud was in an attic for many years, had dried out and was not played. I'm just really happy and surprised that this instrument is opening up the way it is. I'll try and get an audio file recorded soon.
