I was looking to acquire a new oud (i like my Sukar 1, but needed another one and why not upgrade a bit). I was introduced to Imad Al-Samra, who was
recommended as one of the very solid manufacturers currently active in Syria. I tried to research his name on the net, and found this short interview
of him in arabic from 2006 where he talks convincingly about his craft which he picked up from his father http://youtu.be/R28IbRl-zbk . I have a picture of the front of the oud which is currently being polished (it is cedar at the front and wholnut at
the back). I am positively inclined and like the understated yet elegantly modern lines but wanted to enquire if any one have owned or heard or heard
of his ouds? Thank you
