Beit El Oud Cairo
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone knows if Beit el Oud in Cairo is still going strong?

I don't know if this is relevant to your interest but Beit al Oud Abu Dhabi which was a satellite of Beit al oud Cairo, is also going strong. There
are about 25-30 regular oud students and as almost as many for Qanun. The two regular teachers are from Cairo (Sherine Tohamy and Bassam Abd Elsatar)
as well as an instrument maker and occassionally Mr Naseer himself drops in to conduct group classes (as he did last week!).
The classes are set up on a month to month basis (about 1000DR or 272 $ for two private lessons per week and 1 group lesson) but there are often
students who come for shorter sessions as they arrange (i.e., there are no short courses per se). It seems to take 3 years to 'graduate' from what I
can find out.
