The laminated strips are shaped with a slight angle at the edges to close around the neck. The neck does not need to be faceted, the strips are not structural so they don't need to fit flat on the neck. If you make the strips thin enough (2mm/1/16inch) they will bend to fit the neck as you apply the rubber band. Glue the strips on the neck wrapped on the neck with a long rubber band cut from a bicycle inner tube.

thank alot for reapleying richard. when you say the strips shuld be angeled you mean that they shuld be wider on the neck block side and thiner on pegbox side? (like v shape) or that each strip shuld be thiner at both edges than the middle? (like 2 mm thick at the midel and become 1.5 at the edges).
and about the neck it self it shuldent be flat at the edges? the 2 strips near the fingerboard makes all the problems..

The strips are tapered from the neck/body end to the pegbox end because of the difference in the arc length at each end. There is no stress on the strips so the glue in the middle and at each edge is sufficient to hold them in place. The mating edges between the strips need to have a slight angle to close as they are glued to the neck. It's not necessary to flatten or facet the neck, the strips will bend to fit the neck as you bind them on the neck with the rubber band at glue-up, if you don't make them too thick or use too stiff wood. If you want to make the neck faceted then round the strips afterwards, the strips need to be thicker to compensate for the shape - it's just more work and not any real improvement. The fingerboard will cover any gap left at the edge between the strip and the neck. The strips are applied before cutting the peg box joint notch and fitting the neck angle at the body joint.
