OUD IN SPAIN (GRANADA, MADRID)?
Dear friends I am traveling to Spain very soon and interested in learning if there are local cultural sites related to music, especially oud, that you
are aware of or recommend visiting or checking out. Thank you.

Since no one else seems to have any "inside" info, I suggest contacting Eduardo Paniagua, who (I believe) is in Madrid. He is an Early Music musician
who has collaborated extensively with North African musicians: http://www.pneumapaniagua.es/index.php/contacto2 He would probably know if there are any decent oud resources in Spain. I don't know if he
speaks English.
Buena suerte!

Uzman Almerabet used to have a teahouse and a music shop in Granada, at least it was like this 10 or more years ago, don't know if it's still the
same. The late Haig Manoukian (Oud) and Souren Baronian (Clarinet, Sax, Doudouk) (both from N.Y.C.) used to jam and hang out there with him a lot when
they toured in Spain. Tell him greetings from Souren from New York. He will surely be of help.

(P.S. Maybe you could report afterwards if he is still there? I would like to go to Andalusia as well...)
