old syrian oud

I think I've seen this oud before, but can't recall where ! Please remind me.

Please add some close clear shots of the full soundboard, bowl, label, bridge, nut .. etc.
It seems like it has 13 ribs in the bowl, doesn't it ? This is rare in Damascene ouds, whilst it is wide spread in Northern Syria, as in Aleppo.

I didn't get what you meant by writing "to whoever interested ". Is it for sale, or just for sharing the photos ? If it's for sale, please set a price.
Anyhow, thank you for sharing !

Yours indeed
Alfaraby

Strange, for me the options are "yes" or "yes"!

Regarding 13 ribs, I'm confused by AlFaraby's comment—I've seen several Nahats with 13 ribs. 15 seems more common, but 13 doesn't seem to be particularly rare.

I think they had been yes and no
But what it meant I do not know.
As for the choice of yes and yes
I understand that even less

I have seen/bought/checked/played/restored tens of Damascene (not only Nahat's) and Aleppian ouds during the last 40 years, very few of which were an exception to the 15 ribs bowl. Therefore I wrote rare, not impossible.
On the other hand, saying that Syrian ouds must have 13 ribs otherwise they'd not be real Syrian, is wrong & misleading.

More photos and info are needed if you please.
Thank you

This is my teacher's oud. He brought it from Syria and if I had the $$$ I would buy it; an original Hanna Nahat. I would say that while it could use some work, perhaps a neck reset, it appears to be all original with no signs of any previous repairs. For certain no one has done anything to degrade it as is so often the case with ouds of this age. Perhaps I will see my teacher this week and speak to him about more photos and details.

hahaha, this is really inflation... from 3000 to 4000 to 5000 bucks within two days - not bad! I wish my shares (which I don't hold anyway...) would have gone up like this!:))

Though I usually like humor, I didn't really like remas making fool of this whole thing, and eventually of us all.
As serious as this post is or is not, this oud is.
A real pity.

:(

I am not going to stand up for knowing or not knowing anything about anything. My activity on this forum, for the last 6 years or so, will.
It's unfortunate that anybody who tries to say or ask anything about an oud, has to take insults from any tyro.
I didn't say anything about this oud except for raising the 13 ribs issue and except for asking for some more shots of "the full soundboard, bowl, label, bridge, nut .. etc.".
Well, now that I got an idea of the ethics in this case, I don't really need any. I shall keep out of this thread, not before advising buyers to check this item in person very thoroughly and consult an expert. I mean a real expert, not just anyone who "has never had real original Nahat oud in his life and knows nothing about Nahat ouds .." !!

Congrats on the sale remas. Someone will be getting a great and rare Nahat oud. As I mentioned, I've seen the oud and it is totally intact and original. I don't see why the authenticity was ever questioned in the first place; Other Nahats also have 13 ribs. As far as changing the price after posting, you re-evaluated what the oud was worth to you and negotiated a price with the buyer; entirely your right and your business. Hopefully the bit of unpleasantness won't prevent you from posting in the future; the forum could certainly use another member who plays as well as you do. :)
