I have found that these pieces are well suited to the oud.

What are they?
I can't access box.com from here but I might already have them on paper.

Hello Jack!
They are two anonymous pieces from the 14th century called Estampie and Trotto. No origin given.
Greetings from Klaus in Germany!

OK, I certainly have the Trotto and I probably have all the known Estampies (though there are several very different editions of them). The standard
reference for mediaeval instrumental music is Timothy McGee's "Medieval Instrumental Dances":

I have an earlier printing, I think it's the same.

I can upload these to another place if that is helpful to anyone?
I was not aware of this book, thanks!
Will have to get a copy.
I managed to get a 4 volume set of the entire Cantigas de Santa Maria in standard Western staff notation.
It took a long time for me to find such a resource.
These melodies are well suited to instrumental versions.
Eduardo Paniagua has done so many excellent albums of this music.
Here is the link if anyone is interested, there are also instrumental books here.

That Cantigas edition is nice (though very very big). I have known the editor for years - he lives in Edinburgh, about two minutes walk from where I
used to live - and played the oud with him in our local makam group only last month.
BTW I think the estampie (istampitta) "Belicha" would be neat on an oud in the right hands though I haven't heard it done:

It's in McGee's book.

Amazing!
Chris Elmes has done an excellent job on the Cantigas and other Medieval music.
I have Ensemble Gaita's 'O Dulcis Scotia – Music in Medieval Scotland' CD, very nice.

I will check this one out, thanks.
Yes, excellent site - thanks .
The Savall ensemble/s interpretations of these Medieval instrumental pieces are inspired, interesting and full of life.
