My Student Visiting Amman, Jordan in March

Hi Folks,

My oud student will be visiting Amman, Jordan in March. She will have a couple of days there.

Are there any good oud-related resources there she shouldn't miss? Teachers? CD shops? Live music venues?

Alf shukran in advance for any and all ideas or leads.

Thanks,
"Udi" John

She might want to contact Tareq Al-Jundi and Omar Abbad. They are both great teachers and nice people.

Thanks! I already knew about Tareq. I just sent Omar a message via Facebook.

Much appreciated.

Hi John,

I would not describe these recommendations as a must-see, but it's a good starting point if she did not find better places to explore

Excellent CD store with all kind of music especially old Arabic music

Gardens Street - Alloloa Music Shop: https://www.facebook.com/AlloloaMusicShop/

Good music store where they sell Ouds, Oud accessories, and I think they have lessons too:

Wekalat Street - Tala Music Center: https://www.facebook.com/SamerMusic1/

Jabal Hussain - Do Re Mi Music Center: https://www.facebook.com/DoReMeForMusic/

Not sure about the music venues I highly recommend visting:

Rainbow Street - Wild Jordan Center & Cafe: https://www.facebook.com/pg/WildJordanCenter/photos/?ref=page_intern...

Jabal El Waivers - Rakwet Cafe: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g293986-d8459711-Revie...

I hope this help.

Regards.

Thank you very much! I'll pass that info to my student.

You are very welcome.

I know the city well so feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Best regards.
