I do not know what the average age is here. I'm 63 now, and playing oud I always have to do some exercises to make my fingers flexible when warming
up. Lately I remembered a real good exercise from my guitar days which I want to share with you, 24 fingerings. Played regularly they will strengthen
your fingers and make unusual moves easier. You can practise on one string first, like 1 2 3 4 on the A string, but you can also split the fingering
playing 1 2 on the A string and 3 4 on the D string or even spread the pattern over two or more strings or play downwards, just as you like when you
proceed.
