Yıldırım Palabıyık
I was playing in a session tonight with a guy who had a Yıldırım Palabıyık ud. Sounded fine on his own, but with three of us
playing it was just about inaudible. (Mine is an old Mahmoud Safi, dunno what the third guy had). Was he just being discreet, or are
Palabıyık uds normally on the quiet side? I don't recall seeing discussions about them here. It looked very nicely made.

I've seen a few of his ouds and they've been some of the loudest I've ever seen/played.

Same for the two Yildirim I tried, they were easily heard in group in workshops.
which doesn't mean the oud of your friend has a problem : can come from the right hand technique of the player, the risha being used, the room in
which you are playing, the hygrometry of this day ( which may not impact the sound same way for the 3 ouds of your set), the strings, the risha being
used..etc etc
