I know we have some instrument- history folks on here. A friend of mine has been reading the Greek epic Digenis Akritas from 12th century Asia Minor.
In the epic, the hero plays a "laouto". We are wondering whether this would have been the same instrument (more or less) as the modern Laouto or
Lavta. (More likely Lavta)
