Which is the best Oud for a beginner?
Hi my friends,
I was searching some info about ouds and I came to this web. I have been reading some post and have found really good information.
I got a question, maybe you can help me.
I'm a guitar player and since a while a want to buy an oud. I was looking a Zeryab oud en this page http://www.mauriceoudshop.com/syrian-oud-004/
or and apprentice one like this http://www.mauriceoudshop.com/apprentice-oud-122/
I was wondering if there is a huge difference beetwen them or it's just an aesthetic thing.
Do you think with one of these ouds I have a good one to study and play without problems?
Any information would be great for me.
Cheers and thanks so much.
As-Salam!

Welcome to the forum Nadim. I have that same Zeryab model among others. I really like it and I have been playing oud for some years now coming from
the guitar . Zeryab would be good for you with a nice tone too. I'm think the Shehata would be good too but I don't have one so can't say for sure,
but the ones I tried have been good. I think either will be fine for you, they both come from reliable workshops which make many ouds and are
consistent, well set up with good playability. Hope some others will reply with further comments. Good luck.
Best Wishes, Charlie
