I am new to the world of the Oud and have just recently bought my first one. It's a second hand Syrian one, from a friend. From what I've gathered
reading this forum I'm afraid it's not thought to be very high end quality for an oud but it's my first one and I could afford it. I am told it was
made by Mouafaq Khalifa from Damascus, either in 2001 or 2009 (apparently it's hard to read).
The rosettes over the three soundholes are plastic and I would like to replace them with proper wooden decorative ones. Can anyone advise me where I
could buy a set of these rosettes?
They are almost perfectly circular holes. The large one is 106 x 107mm, the two smaller are both 38 x 39mm.
