Introduction new member
Hello,
I am a new member fro Ontario Canada.
I have played guitar more or less over 40 years, I will 60 this month.
I speak French and English.
I have been aware of the Oud for a long time; but not as much as recently.
I like the Arabic Oud more than others so far..
I am on disability and will never afford skype lessons yet I intend to get a Oud one day, Why do I love the Oud when it is so far from my
upbringing.
There is so much feeling in the Oud and the music is played with so much shade. The music that I grew up with has become all about speed at the lost
of this feeling. I remember that whenever I heard the Oud being played in a movie soundtrack ( without knowing it was a Oud) that I always said to
myself...this is so beautiful. I am glad to have found this forum and the dedication to the Oud.
Sincerely,
Ronald

Hi Ronald,
welcome to the forum. Since you are in Ontario, you may be interested in the work of Labyrinth Ontario. They are putting on concerts and workshops and
may have workshops for Arabic Oud in the future.
