Page of About 60 Free Persian Music Sheets

I found a web page with about 60 free Persian music sheets:

http://matin0935.persiangig.com/image/tar-3tar/not/tar-3tar/

It does seem much harder to find high-quality Persian music sheets on-line, compared to Turkish or Arabic music.

Khoda Hafez,

Notational oddity. In this one

http://matin0935.persiangig.com/image/tar-3tar/not/tar-3tar/bahared...

why have they written all those low Ds as "8va"? Why not just write them an octave higher? The tune goes higher than that anyway. (It's a rather un-vocal arrangement, despite the words being provided).

Thanks for sharing this. This is definitely a gold mine. And I just ordered some music books from Iran a few weeks ago!

I believe these are 8vb as opposed to 8va. That would make sense because this is written for Tar and Setar and a D written with 8vb would correspond to a Tar or Setar's bass string tuned D for this Dastgah in this key. It makes perfect sense.

Unlike Turkish and Arabic scores, Persian notation standard is to notate ALL ornamentation exactly as they were meant to be executed on the instruments while allowing for creativity and freedom as per the artist.
