Where/Who to buy my first serious Arabic oud from?

Hi Everyone,

I've reached that stage where I'm ready to buy an oud for life - I want a serious instrument that will give me that classic old style arabic tone and will develop with age.

Who do I go to is my question. My budget is $1300 (£1000). Will the Shehata ouds give me what I'm looking for? Please share your wisdom!
