Luthier identification

Has anyone heard of an oud maker called Samir Hamido? In particular, does anyone know about the build quality? I have found one second-hand and am trying to determine if it is worthwhile.
Thank you!

Welcome to the forums, kyrenfayre.

These ouds appear to be made in Egypt and possibly sold by the Samir Hamido Music Store in Cairo. Many seem to sell in Europe for around the €300 mark. Photos that I found on the net of Samir Hamido ouds would suggest many would be more comfortable as a wall adornment than in the hands of a musician.
Your best bet would be to upload a photo of this instrument, as there are many members who could tell you a lot more about the instrument from a picture.

Sending some photos now. I would also appreciate any advice anyone has on what specifically they look for.

Thanks for uploading the photos, kyrenfayre.
