Any information about this author: Nafris Bik

Good evening, in volume 4 of the oud method of the National Conservatory of Music, Birzeit University (these methods can be downloaded from the Facebook page Turkish Music for Non-Turks, by the way highly recommended).

The method is in Arabic (I am ignorant in this language), but with the help of Google Lens I can translate some names and copy-paste others into a search engine and find information. But I have found this author, arabic name in the added image.
A Saharawi friend told me that he is Nafris Bik, but apart from this name I can't find any other information.

Can anyone provide any information about this musician?

Greetings and thanks.

Diego.

Hey,

Can't say for sure but it's probably Nevres (Orhon) Bey (1873-1937)

My best guess is that this person is Udi Nevres Bey (1873- 1937). He composed some pieces which are still played today, collected and published Turkish folk melodies, and made some recordings of his own ud playing. His Huzzam saz semaisi seems to be particularly popular.

Are you saying he is the author of volume 4? Or that he composed a something that is published there? or something else?

Thank you very much for the promptness and information to both of you.
Yes, it is this author Nevres Bey (whom I did not know)
And indeed it is this samai that you sent me that appears in the oud method.

It is a method with 4 volumes, each volume having 18-25 pieces from various authors. There are many interesting pieces. You can find the download links on this Facebook page (I think it belongs to a forum member).

Thanks again to both of you.

I am posting the score. The Turkish name for this piece is "Hüzzam Saz Semaisi" by Udi Nevres Bey. Arabic and Turkish, despite sharing a pretty large number of words (in both directions!), are linguistically unrelated, and have very different phonetics. Be aware that words passing between the 2 sometimes get a little "butchered."
