Al Gardner cd?
Does anybody know how I can get ahold of any recorded Al Gardner (Alan Shavarsh Bardezbanian And His Middle Eastern Ensemble) music? I have heard
only one track by this guy--Dark Eyes (Sev Orer), from a CD called From Kef to Classical, and that was only because somebody posted an mp3 on this
site awhile back. I have looked everywhere, even contacted the artist, but no luck. Not on amazon. Nowhere. If anybody knows where I can get a
copy, please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,
There is a CD for him and other artists. You can get it at:
http://www.xauen-music.com/xauen-music/showCD.php?cd=7
There is also a recital of him on ‘ud, clarinet, and duduk with Hicham Chami on qanun, Naser Musa on ‘ud, and Karim Nagi on hand drums.
The recital will be presented on Sunday, July 31st at 7:30 PM at the Great Hall of the DeKoven Center in Racine, Wisconsin.
Check it out at:
http://www.xauen-music.com/xauen-music/armenianrecital.html
and more about the recital and him can be found at:
http://www.worldmusiccentral.org/article.php/20050607193526779
Hope this helps.
Regards,

I met Al at Simon Shaheen's music camp in 2000. He is one hell of a oud player and plays a mean kanun as well.

Al Gardner cd
Hi Jonathan,
Al is my teacher and we live quite close by to one another. If you like I can give him your contact info and see if he can send you a CD. His Cd,
called "From Kef to Classical" is an amazing collection of Armenian and Turkish tunes as well as some of Al's own beautiful compositions. He performs
with his ensemble which is made up of several wonderful musicians (especially the accordion player and the percussionist). Hope this help!

Thanks guys. I didn't know anything about the Karim Nagi cd, but I will order it today.
Amos, I would be grateful. I did contact Al via email a while back, without any luck. If he happens to know where I can buy one, I would love
it.
That one mp3 that was on here (last year?) just knocks me out. If I can find it, I will post a link.
Wish I was in Racine for the concert. I have never seen him perform live--Inshallah, one day.

Hi Jonathan,
yeah, its difficult to catch al's live shows as most of them happen way over here in Maine where we live. I will be seeing Al this week, I think, so
I will ask him about the cds and how you can get one...Take care, Amos
