Professional Shahata’s Oud "Georges Nahat Replica"

Professional Beuatiful Morrice Shahata’s Oud "Georges Nahat Replica"

This Oud is NEW! I just got it last week. The only reason I am selling it is because I also got a Bashir’s style Oud, which I found it suits more than the arabic traditional ouds since both of my teachers are from “Bayt Al’Oud”.

This ous has a great quality wood and the workmanship is amazingally beautiful, and the sound is an outstanding!

The oud was customized for me and it took about 5 weeks to build.

You can always contact Morrice Shahata himself to check on this oud quality and sound.

The Ouds Specifications:

The bowel: Peleisander Indian Rosewood.

The Finger Board: Ebony

Inlays: Sykamour

Stringlength: 61.5cm

Category: Very Profesional

Price: $1100 + Shipping cost.

I'll ship anywhere worldwide.

The Oud comes with a softcase, hardcase, an additional set of strings and horn Rishas “Picks”.

pellisander indian rosewood?

I thought rosewood was a very dark, maroonish red? This bowl looks brown.

Just incase you haven't called Shahata and still wondering, that marronish color you mentioned is not a rosewood. it is a Padauk!

The Indian Palissander comes in tone color of the wood - dark brownish just like what's the bowel of this oud is made of!

Hope this helps.

I have an oud exactly like this one and I love it. I had another oud by Maurice that I liked very much, but the Nahat copy that I got from him has a deeper tone. When I still had the other Shehata oud I would play each one for people and by comparison they all liked the sound of the Nahat copy more. I liked them both, but this one won me over. Yehia at the Nile Shop brokered the deal. Did he do the same for you?

Cheers,
Roy

Hi Roy,

Indeed! It is truly the best arabic oud I have ever had. Amazing sound, no matter what strings you're using.

I also got another oud and I replaced the strings with Aquila. It sounded much better, but it is still nothing compared to this shahata "Nahat" oud. Gee, I sometimes feel like I shouldn't sell it after all. Will wait and see though. I wanna make sure that it will have a home of a real oud's lover.

And yes, same thing happened here.

Regards,

Hi Sidi,

Doitashimashte. :)

I'd love to, except that I'm still a beginner and hearing me playing on any oud at the moment will make you hate all ouds :). Though you can always ask Mourice himself about this one particular oud he made for me and he will tell you how good it sounds. It does sound really nice and deep.

Best Regards,

Hi all,

Just to let everybody know. I am still offering this oud on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/Professional-Shahata-s-Oud-Georges-Nahat-Replic...

, but this time it's going to be the last time, and I won't offer it for sale again for at least a year or two. Eveybody knows that the longer you keep a shahata oud the harder it gets to apart from it, and that's is exactly what is happening.

So, if I couldn't find a home for it this time, I know that it is going to stay with its daddy :) and I'm loving it :)

Regards.

The cost depends on the packaging and whether it is insured or not. But it is about $220 insured all the way to california.

BTW, Emmaz is not in Kobe. They are located somewhere in Zushi, Kanagawa-ken. They guy who emailed me from Emmaz spoke "wrote" in a very good english I thought. His name is FUSHIMI, Minoru.

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Ahmed

Hi Syrianoud,

I'm afraid not. I don't know that oud maker. Probably somebody else in the forum knows.
If the oud sounds good, then..hey that's all what we are really after.

Congratulations and enjoy your new oud.
