Daoud Husni Essay
I just surfed today into an interesting essay on the Egyptian composer Daoud Husni:
http://www.hsje.org/comdaoudhosn.htm
One thing I really lked was the discussion in the Glossary of the Arabic word "maqam." I have always wondered about its relationship to the Hebrew word "makom," which is spelled with the same consonants.
Cheers,
Udi John
